Global Name Registry Limited.
You can now register a .NAME Domain and secure your own private
internet address along with the respective Email-Address. E.g. Register
www.First.Last.Name and automatically receive the respective
Email-Address First@Last.Name. The official registry not only offers
Third-Level .NAME Domains, but also as of January 14th 2004
Second-Level .NAME registrations, meaning, you can register
yourcompany.name. For further information, please visit the official
Website of Global Name Registry at www.gnr.name.
.name is designed to make creating a presence and communicating
online easy and accessible.
Email for life
- It's memorable. Use your first, middle, last or nickname in any order.
The only thing anyone needs to remember is your name.
- It's portable. Any email sent to your .name address arrives in your
current email box or any email box you choose*
- It's permanent. Since .name can be registered for up to 10 years,
and ownership is renewable, your .name really can be yours for life.
- It's protected. As the new standard for individuals, .name is a global
top-level domain (gTLD) operated by Global Name Registry under
license by ICANN.
Web address
- It's personal. Whether you use it to show off your family photos, or
as an online portfolio, your .name domain is the best way to express
yourself online.
- It's global. As the new global standard for personal Web addresses
.name works for individuals in exactly the same way as .com works
for businesses.
- It's non-commercial. No companies or third parties are mentioned
in your domain. It's your name ending in .name, and that's it!
- It will develop into a unified 'digital identity'. Soon it could be a
secure online repository for personal information, accessible from any
Internet-enabled device.
Global Name Registry is the global operator of the Internet's only and exclusive address space for individual identity - .name.
A .name address is a personal, memorable and lifelong address for your Internet identity. When you get a .name address, it sits on top of your email account and your web page (e.g. your myspace page or your personal website), so you can have one address, for life, no matter which email or web site you use.
Your friends will always know where to find you, your first@last.name for email, and your www.first.last.name for your website, profile page, myspace... whereever your Internet identity is, today or tomorrow.
You own your .name address for life - your name online, your Internet identity.
To get a .name address, just type in your name in the fields to the left - and you will be directed to a random registrar using the .name identity platform.
Global Name Registry (GNR) is the license operator of .name, the first and only global top-level domain (gTLD) for individuals, approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in November 2000 and launched in 2002.
The company offers two types of registration products: second level domains of the type morgan.name (structured like .com domains, except much more names are available on .name), and third level domains, which include personalized email address name, of the type peter.morgan.name and peter@morgan.name.
